MI Choice Emergency!!! MI Choice Waiver Emergency!!! ACT TODAY!!! Senator Bishop is refusing to approve supplemental funding to cover transitions from nursing homes to the community in this year's budget. This is money that has already been spent to get people out of nursing homes. Senator Bishop wants the Department of Community Health to find the money in their current budget. It is not there! Current services to all MI Choice participants will be cut and no one new will be able to access the program. This is outrageous! Tell Senator Bishop to keep the promise. Support using House Bill 4493 to cover this $17 million shortfall. People with disabilities and seniors deserve to live in the community with needed supports. This is an issue of basic human dignity. Add $17 million to HB 4493 and add the money necessary to the tobacco securitization bill.
